the Oceanside City Council authorized restrictions Wednesdaythat make it practically impossible for brand new financing shops toopen.

Supported by all except one of a half-dozen speakers, the councilvoted 5-0 to require that brand new payday stores obtain an operatingpermit that is special needs to be authorized by the council. Also, such storeswill be classified as adult companies, much like adult bookstores, rather than be permitted within 1,000 foot of the same businessor 500 legs of a house, church, park or school.

Stated activist Nadine Scott, “I strongly help this ordinance.I think it is well crafted, and I also wish it’s going to be well enforced tokeep these continuing companies away from our areas.”

But Scott stated she hopes the Marines is going to do more to helpthemselves.
